Below are the patch notes for 16.4.2. Servers will be going down soon and will be unavailable for 15-30 minutes.

Audio 
 

  • Environment sounds now properly adjust for morning, day, or night time.
  • Calprates and Rocharus now support footstep sounds.


Graphics 
 

  • Improved weapon particle effects.
  • Retextured the turret model with highpoly detail and PBR material.
  • Introduced a couple of new particle effects for boss encounters.
  • The old rifle model has been replaced with a new and improved version.
  • Improved flame thrower particle effects.
  • Added a new Spear icon.
  • Changed the Silicone icon to something unique.
  • Campfires now emit light.


Housing 
 

  • Wood shacks now have a matching door that swings in/out when you enter/exit.


Items and Fittings 
 

  • Bandages and Painkillers have seen a significant healing boost, roughly double.
  • Food and drink healing has been increased by 20%.
  • Medical scanner healing has been increased by roughly 20%.
  • Dropped item decay speed has been decreased to 2 minutes.
  • Introduced three new Phosphori weapons. These weapons are created by upgrading previous weapons with a new item from Phosphori Flamebeasts.
  • The following weapons had their max range reduced: Shockguns, Shotguns, Flame Throwers, Flurry Guns, and the non-beam versions of the Pistol, Rifle, and Shotgun.


Miscellaneous 
 

  • Increased the amount of damage taken from falling.
  • The maximum delay before stamina begins regenerating has been reduced from 5 to 3 seconds.


NPCs 
 

  • Introduced a new rare boss: Phosphori Flamebeasts have an AoE fire attack and drop filtration glands which will be useful to produce special weapons for crafting.


Optimization 
 

  • Optimized Char Creation actor by removing some unused assets within it.


Pets 
 

  • Pets are now spawned using whistles which are created during crafting, rather than being spawned at the player. This allows them to be traded or saved for later.
  • Pets now spawn in a level range that is based on the pet type.
  • Pets should be performing better in general.
  • Introduced new Rhinoc and Calprates pets.


Skills and Abilities 
 

  • Increased the amount of experience required per level.


Trade Skills 
 

  • It now costs 4 fiber and 4 twigs to create 5 bandages.
  • The amount of experience rewarded when crafting now scales by the recipe used.
  • Critical success on bandages and painkillers now results in 3 quality results instead of 1.
  • It now costs 2 Ngooberry Juices and 2 Ethylenes to create 5 Painkillers.
  • Genetically Engineered Calprates pets can now be created with a Subsistence skill of 9.
  • At Subsistence skill of 10 you can now create Genetically Engineered Rocharus pets.
  • Introduced two new recipes that require Melee skill of 10. These allow you to convert Heated weapons into Phosphori weapons if you have the rare material required.
  • You can now upgrade Flame Throwers into a Phosphori variation if you have a Phosphori Gland and 10 Ranged skill.


User Interface 
 

  • Added more windows that can be closed using the Esc key. Improved changing from UI to Game mode and back, when windows are opened or closed. (e.g. mouse pointer showing, or locked to crosshairs)
  • When opening the map, if the matching tip window also opens, the game will be in UI mode, allowing you to click on the "Ignore Tip" button to close and prevent that tip window from appearing in the future. If the tip window does not open, the mouse will stay locked to character movement when the map opens.
  • The current target display now shows/hides with other HUD pieces when using Ctrl+Z to toggle.
  • Obsolete key mappings will now be deleted on game start, and should no longer appear in your Game Options window. (e.g. Pickup Object and Toggle Map).
  • Crosshairs now hide when in UI mode.
  • You cannot attack/fire/harvest/pickup items when in UI mode.
  • The tip window can now be closed via the esc key.
  • The target display text now scales the font size based on name length.


Vehicles and Mounts 
 

  • Creating an Off-Road Vehicle now results in a key which will remotely summon the vehicle to you whenever you are ready to use it rather than spawning it automatically.


Bug Fixes 
 

  • Fixed a typo in the Subsistence text on the drop down filter in the crafting window.
  • Large Crates and Silos now display the proper number of items which they can hold (16 and 25).
  • The "Use" and "Fire" abilities are no longer available if you are dead.
  • Consuming Salad or Delicious Salad will now properly indicate the item being consumed.
  • Adjusted window refreshing for recipes and inventory to cause less of a hit when they happen. This was mostly the lag spike inducing issue in 16.4.1. It should be much better now and even better than pre 16.4.1.
  • It is no longer possible to open a container, pick up an item, or loot a mob, when holding a ranged weapon and standing further than melee range.
  • Fixed an issue that would occasionally cause two melee attacks (or harvests) for the price of one.
  • Fixed a bug which was causing Night Vision Pills and Herbal Tea effects to not display on client machines.
  • Corrected an issue which were making some mobs float in the air due to a capsule issue.
  • Fixed some movement issues with the Rhinoc, Calprates and Mubark.
  • Fixed a bug which was causing NPCs to freeze after being hit with a grenade.
  • Fixed Markers not being persistent after a relog.
  • Fixed an issue causing Ignored Tips to be re-displayed after a relog.
  • Fixed an issue that could of resulted in a partial stack being dropped over a full stack getting eaten in the process.
  • Fixed an issue with Char Creation where sun light could affect lighting with it.
  • Fixed a bug where dropped ammunition was resulting in the wrong item pickup.
  • All items should now be dropped on a permadeath item kill, some were not being dropped previously.
  • Fixed a bug with Char Ceation Hair Style # 5 where sometimes when colored it secondary mesh were removed.
  • Fixed issue with blurry desert grass.
  • When killed on a permadeath item server stack counts should now be correct.
  • Updated the Map Marker tip to reflect the change from Shift+M to CTRL+M.
  • Fixed forge collision to prevent camera jumping in 3rd person when getting close to the forge.
  • We believe we have properly fixed the day, night and weather synchronization issues. This will need testing but looks good so far.
  • Calprates are playing attack animations again.
  • Recipes which require a stove only will properly indicate so, rather than indicating that an oven is required.
  • Fixed a rounding issue when using alt to split stacks.
  • Fixed a bug which was causing Painkillers to restore health over time.
